Our successful students

Hello Friends,

For less than $17 a month, you can make a student's dreams come true.

In Guatemala, free public education often ends at 6th grade and in rural areas, many children never learn basic literacy skills.  However, at the Guatemala Friendship School, we are making dreams come true, one student at a time.  And you can help!

It is my pleasure to introduce our Student Sponsorship Program.  For a small amount, you can make a huge difference the life of a student by providing education to a child who wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity to go to school. In addition, you will build a connection with an individual Guatemalan student.  You will see the positive result of your donation and build cultural awareness for the children in your family.

Through your sponsorship, you will give the lifelong gift of education.  This gift will empower a  student to make their dreams come true, ultimately improving socioeconomic conditions for their family, community, and future generations.  Through the gift of education we strive to break the cycle of poverty, one child at a time.

To sponsor a student, please print out the bottom section of this newsletter, fill it out and mail it to us. Or, send an email to info@gfsf.org with the same information. We'll be in touch with you soon to introduce your family to your new student.

Thank you and muchas gracias,

Our successful students

Despite the fact that our students are in financial need, they are working hard to achieve their dreams.

  • Last year, our students were recognized for having the hightest standardized test scores of all the junior highs in their state
  • Over 98% of our graduates have gone on to higher education
  • In 2007 we celebrated our 5th junior high graduation
  • Regional champions in art and choir 2006
  • Regional champions in both boy's and girl's soccer 2003-2007

Our students would not be in school without our support and they take their education very seriously.

Thank your for helping them realize their dreams!
